The Oirase Gorge is a valley of about 14 km, designated as a national special place of scenic beauty and natural monument. The fresh green season is perfect for strolling around. There are walking trails in all sections, so you can walk with peace of mind while listening closely to the murmuring of water. The natural beauty of mossy rocks, giant groves, and large and small waterfalls is a must-see.
Barbecues, camping, canoeing, bird watching... There are many places to enjoy Lake Towada. The deep blue of Lake Towada in summer is beautiful, and if you look into Lake Towada from the observatory, you can see clouds reflecting off the surface of the lake. It's also a great spot for a summer resort.
It is a Lake Towada tradition held every summer. 2,000 “sky lanterns” with wishes float in the night sky of Lake Towada. The orange and blue lights of sky lanterns are projected on the surface of the lake, creating a fantastic world. The finale was fireworks. Along with the sky lanterns, large flowers adorn the night sky.
