詳細

The Ministry of the Environment, along with Aomori Prefecture, Hachinohe City, Nanbu Town, Gonohe Town, and Towada City, is working to establish a 120 km “Hachinohe Towada Trail” (tentative name). This new long-distance trail will connect Hachinohe City in Aomori Prefecture, passing through Nanbu Town and Gonohe Town, to Towada Shrine in Towada City, linking Towada-Hachimantai National Park with the Michinoku Coastal Trail.

Currently, we are developing the route with the goal of a test opening around April 2025. To raise awareness of the trail among local residents and hikers, we will hold a walking event.

Schedule:

Date: November 23, 2024 (Saturday)

Route: Towada area (from Roadside Station Oirase to Oirase Gorge Hot Springs), approximately 15 km

Organizer: Ministry of the Environment Tohoku office

Co-hosts: Aomori Prefecture, Hachinohe City, Towada City, Gonohe Town, Nanbu Town, VISIT Hachinohe, Towada Travel

Implemented by: Trail Blaze Hiking Research Institute, Modi Co., Ltd.

Guest: Mr. Yuki Tanaka (professional adventure racer, advisor to the Japan Long Trail Association)

Please note that the number of applicants for the walking event has reached capacity.

Additionally, a symposium will be held in Hachinohe on the 24th (Sunday). For more details, please check the dedicated site below, and we hope you can join us!
