Currently, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is proceeding with construction of the Aobunayama (Aobunayama) Tunnel to bypass National Route 102 in the Oirase Gorge section for the purpose of balancing the natural environment of the Oirase Gorge with tourism promotion.
Vehicle regulations are planned after the bypass is completed, and it is expected that the usage environment in Oirase will change drastically over the next 10 years.
The NPO Oirase Natural Tourism Resources Study Group (Chairman Mr. Daisuke Kawai) sees this timing as an opportunity to disseminate the value of Oirase to the world, and is planning to hold an event to think about sustainable utilization of Oirase.
